Mirjam Collor

Mirjam Collor is a German contemporary artist, currently based in Abu Dhabi. She has been painting professionally for the last 10 years. During this time, she has been exhibiting and selling her art globally.

Originally a speech therapist for children, Mirjam blends her painting skills with the creativity she receives from working with children, bringing these two passions together in a meaningful way. She feels inspired by people. Going through the world with open eyes and an open heart, is how she finds inspiration. Creativity is the vehicle she uses to analyse and comprehend what is.

Mirjam is drawn to abstract art. Her compositions leave ample room for interpretations. They can be different things to different people, anything to anyone. When she paints, the process is loud and messy, unpredictable with flying paint. Without a fixed starting point she often lets her intuition carry her and is often surprised by where it leads her.

Artist Statement:

I love people, different cultures and travel. I am curious and always willing to think deeply. Meaningful conversations, interactions and observations are main drivers for my art. Through my art, I processes what I see, hear and experience in life, thus making these things accessible for others to see.

My art is experimental, going with the flow, often without any preset backstory. At other times I have a clear story in mind and intend to make a specific statement.
